Rooney wins world shooting title

New Zealand shooter Natalie Rooney has won her first ever World title.

Rooney , the Olympic sliver medalist has won the women's trap title at the ISSF World cup final in Rome. Rooney finished semi final in the lead with 13 hits out of 15 targets and moved into gold medal match along with the title defender , San Marion 's Alessandra Perilli During the medal match, the two athletes scored 9 clay out of 15 each.

To break the tie, they entered a shoot-off which lasted right to the 10th target, when Perilli missed a fatal clay, placing herself in second with 9+9 hits, and leaving the gold to Rooney. 

Recount About Auckland Botanic Trip

                    On the 12th of October we went to the Auckland Botanic Garden in Manurewa.

When we arrived we went and took a  look at the edible garden which grew vegetables and fruits. A few minutes later we left to the Threatened Native Plants we looked around then we took some photo's sadly , we did not go and see the Native Forest because it would of taken 20 minutes to get there and 2 hours to explore the whole thing. After we came to my favourite we would go to the Rock                                                                                               garden where we saw Ducks and eels.

Auckland Botanic Garden

When we go to the Auckland Botanic Garden, I want to go and see the Rock Garden. I want to go and see the Rock Garden because when I look at the photo it looks beautiful and it looks is like a good place were you can relax . I want to go and experience the Rock Garden features and trees. I just want to go learn new things about this particular garden. This is why I want to see the Rock Garden.

Jupiter's Moon Spewing Water Jets

New evidence has shown that Jupiter's icy moon Europa throws jets of water out into space.

Scientist first reported the behaviour in 2013 using the Hubble telescope but may have now made a follow-up sighting. It is significant because Europa is one of the most likely places to find microbial life beyond Earth because of its big ocean of liquid water. Fly through the jets with an instrumented spacecraft would be an effective way to test the possibility.

Asbestos At Ruapotaka School

                               Tamaki Primary :

On Wednesday , our school went to Tamaki Primary because some special cleaners came to clean the entire school because we had Asbestos.

The board of trustes ordered us 3 bus from the Howick bus station to get to Tamaki Primary and back. When we arrived at Tamaki Primary the kapa haka group did a special performance for our school. After they finished their performance we all got put into a class room. On Monday we had a Duffy assembly where a man named Henry came and encouraged us about reading, after we finished our school assembly we went back to school and Mrs Vickers told us some great news that the cleaners finished and we could stay at our school.

Firefighters climb Sky Tower To mark 9/11

About 160 firefighters have climbed the Sky Tower in Auckland to honour their New York counterparts who died in September 11 terror attacks. Today marks the 15th anniversary of the attacks and New Zealand is one of the first countries to pay tribute.  Firefighters traveled from around New Zealand to climb the Sky Tower's 1100 steps , many of them wearing their full uniforms. The American flag at the US Embassy and Consulate in Wellington has been lowered remembrance today.
   

Typhoon hits Tokyo

A typhoon bringing heavy rain and wild gusts  of up to 180 km/h has hit japan's capital, Tokyo.
At least two people have died and 29 people have been injured in the storm. Typhoon Mindule made a direct hit on Tokyo around midday on Monday. Many airlines have cancelled their flights across Japan. 400 flights have been cancelled so far. A typhoon is an extremely large , powerful and destructive storm that occurs especially in the region of the Philippines or the China Sea.
